The World African Day & Afro descendant Culture is celebrated globally on the 24th of January every year. Similarly, it will be celebrated with same passion by the organisation & world body UNESCO, i.e. United Nations Educational Scientific & Cultural Organisation. It celebrates the many vibrant cultures of the African continent and the African Diasporas around the world. The day is also a huge day in terms of celebrations by many vibrant cultures of the African continent. The continent is very important in terms of global developments. Peace for African continent, dialogue, and also known for Africa’s sustainable development. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave a speech on the occasion of World African Day and values attached to the day.
Having popularity for many diverse reasons are the countries in Africa. Wild Life and Forests are the two areas where African continent holds most values and significance. Includes South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zimbabwe being some of the prominent countries of the continent of Africa. South Africa is the most developed countries in the continent with rich cultural heritage. It also has a background that dates way back in history. The country has many beautiful cities that includes Cape Town, Pretoria and Port Elizabeth. Also includes, Johannesburg, Durban, and East London being the most popular and most established ones. Known for its wildlife are the three nations Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria. Zimbabwe, another African country is known for its gorgeous landscapes and water falls. An example of the gorgeous nature is Victoria Falls as one of the natural beauty and landscapes of Africa.
BLACK LIVES MATTER:
World Day for Afro-descendant Culture and Africans, as adopted by UNESCO is 24th January. This is for the promotion of the Culture of Africa. On top of this, a day promoting the slogan “Black Lives Matter” as well as Anti-racism campaigns. The celebrations of this day also aims to promote the widest possible ratification. Furthermore, the implementation of the charter by the African States. This day also gives strength to the role of culture in promotions of peace in Africa.
With huge compassion and passion for African nations is the celebration of the World African Day in Canada. Known for rich and gorgeous Wild-life, forests, landscapes and a tropical climate is the continent of Africa. Canada is a country that is highly diverse in terms of population from diverse countries and continents. There are people in Canada from all six continents of the world. These includes Asia, Africa, Europe, North America itself, South America & Australasia.
JUSTIN’S THOUGHTS & STATEMENTS FOR THE DAY:
The Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Justin Trudeau holds similar sentiments for people from all around the world. Equal opportunities for everyone and being racism free is the motto of Govt. of Canada. The Prime Minister in his speech was affirmative for African descents. According to Justin, There are commitments from our side in building an equal and more inclusive country. This has been the reason throughout some years that Canada officially recognises the International Decade for People of African Descent. He also said that this Decade is a key opportunity to highlight the vital contributions. Primarily, the people of African descent have made in the development and prosperity of Canada.
He further emphasised on the importance of the day. While saying that “It also provides a vital framework for the state and non-state actors. Hence, for the sake of taking measures towards the recognition and justice. Furthermore, the development to fight against racism, discrimination and the on-going inequalities. These are all that are faced by the Canadians of African descent.”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s speech highlights his efforts for Africans in Canada and his positive measures against racism. He is a key figure in World of politics who has made it crystal clear in his statements. Importantly, that everyone in Canada is equal and should be treated equally. This is also regards to the Canadian policies of equal opportunities at work place.
He also requested Canadians taking part in the event on 24th January 2021. With larger focus, to reflect on how the Govt. of Canada can build a safer and much fairer country. Apart from this, a more equal world for everyone coming to the great country Canada.
